ok…so im ethiopian…& ive always been fascinated with languages…and i speak 3 fluently…a couple of years ago i was introduced the music of an Israeli singer (Idan Raichel) and fell in love with Hebrew…& this past Monday I had the pleasure of seeing him perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC…and the President was there… even though Idan didnt sing…(India arie sang in Hebrew)..it was wonderful…and made me realise how much i want to learn Hebrew! so this helps! thanks

no it’s not. in ancient times, they were ashamed of the phoenician alphabet, and they started using the assyrian. that is what we learn today. square script is assyrian.

simple? that’ s a pain in the ass. Especially to write them.
Interesting story:greek/latin alphabet comes from the phoenician alphabet. Jewish alphabet is the same as the pohenician
